Custom Carpentry Division

Finish carpentry, custom cabinetry, hardwood floors, built-ins, trim & millwork, and decking — Schlickmann's in-house carpenters handle the finish work that defines how a renovation looks and feels.

The carpentry trade is where a renovation goes from functional to exceptional. Schlickmann's in-house carpenters handle the finish work across every project we build — crown molding, wainscoting, custom built-ins, hardwood floor installation and refinishing, custom cabinetry, and trim details that tie a renovation together. When you hire Schlickmann for a kitchen remodel, you're getting the same carpenters who handle the finish work on our high-end Lexington and Winchester projects.

Custom Carpentry — FAQ

What carpentry services does Schlickmann offer in Greater Boston?

Schlickmann's Custom Carpentry Division covers finish carpentry (crown molding, wainscoting, door and window casing), hardwood floor installation and refinishing, custom cabinetry design and installation, trim and millwork, built-in shelving and entertainment centers, and deck construction. All work is performed by our in-house carpenters under Massachusetts CSL-121587.

Does Schlickmann do standalone carpentry projects or only as part of larger remodels?

Both. Our carpenters take standalone carpentry projects — installing hardwood floors, adding crown molding, building custom built-ins, or constructing a deck — as well as providing finish carpentry as part of our larger remodeling and addition projects. Minimum project size for standalone carpentry work is typically $5,000.

Can Schlickmann match existing trim and molding in an older home?

Yes — matching existing profiles in older Greater Boston homes is a specialty. We stock a wide range of millwork profiles and can custom-order matching profiles for Victorian-era homes with unusual molding dimensions. Our carpenters work regularly in pre-1940 housing stock in Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, and Lexington where profile matching is essential.
